The CFL was born in 1998 with 12 teams, and has grown in the years since. Over the
first 11 seasons of CFL play, 21 owners have controlled the fate of the 12 franchises. In 2007 the CFL welcomed
2 new participants, as Jim took over the Mighty Mice and Curtis took over The Spartans.
Entering the 2009 campaign, Mason joins the league and will control the destiny of Team Gomez.
With 6 different champions in the first 7 seasons of play, the CFL has seen a high level of competition
and parity. In all, 11 of our 12 franchises have now appeared in the Super Bowl. More impressively,
every team has competed in the playoffs multiple times since the inceptions of the CFL.
The CFL All-Stars have captured 4 Super Bowl trophies and Polk High has made 11 consectuive playoff appearances
for league records.
Individual defensive players were added to the league in 2005. The annual CFL
draft is held each year in August and now consists of four rounds.
