It would be an understatement to say that 2004 did not go
as planned. As a result the roster has seen a dramatic turnaround. A draft day trade brought in veteran QB Brett
Favre and RB Travis Henry. They will be accompanied by QB Brian Griese, WR Lee Evans, and RB Corey Dillon was kept around.
LB Jonathon Vilma will team well with DBs Ed Reed and Nate Clements. A lot of veteran leadership was brought in, and
we will see how it mixes together for a franchise coming off the worst season in their history.
2005 Outlook:
The team that entered 2004 with a lot of questions enters
2005 with some potential solutions. Brett Favre and Brian Griese should be a big improvement over last season's entry
under center. Running back will remain an issue, and while trading Lee Suggs won't help the position, keeping Corey
Dillon will. The addition of Lee Evans to the receiving corps will help, and Jeremy Shockey is a potential game-breaker. There
is no question that this team is a step up from last year, but the question is whether it will be enough to step into the
playoffs. While Favre and Rod Smith have some tread on their tires, they will be the driving force to wherever Packmen
are going in 2005.
